She JUMPS!!
We have been waiting ALL summer for Abby to get up the courage to jump off the side of the pool (which she started doing a few weeks ago), but now she finally jumped off the diving board tonight with no coaxing! A HUGE accomplishment for her! She loved it more when daddy jumped off the side at the same time.
Relaxing after multiple jumps.
Our little sinker!
Loves swimming with her daddy
Baltimore Bound!
We headed up to Baltimore, MD for a quick trip this past Fri/Sat!
We ventured up mostly to visit the Baltimore Aquarium! And added the kids fun museum as a plus!
It was about a 5 hour drive both ways; especially after 3-4 potty breaks!! Yikes!
Our hotel room window! She had to check out the view below.
Baltimore Aquarium!!
They don't allow ANY strollers in the aquarium, but they do allow you to check your stroller and borrow a front or backpack child carrier FREE! So Maddy got to ride in style! She loved it.
The cutest part of the aquarium was the dolphin show! It was a fun 20 minutes of watching the dolphins. Abby's first time at such a show, so she was mesmerized! Maddy even sat like a champ and seemed to be paying attention.
A quick aquarium treat.....a popscicle! Of course Abby picked out the brightest one! And she even shared with her sister!
Dinner out on the inner harbour! We ate on the patio at one of the harbour seafood restaurants! The girls did great, that was the first time we've EVER kept them out late, nonetheless for a dinner.
The next morning we headed over to the "Port Discovery Childrens Museum". Lots of cute hands-on things to do. Abby's favorite was probably the GIANT rope jungle climbing structure in the center of the building. She is getting more adventurous these days!
One was the water exhibit. I sat outside with Maddy on a bench, and she LOVED spraying the squirt bottle on Maddy and I.
For lunch before leaving town, we went to "Dicks Last Resort". We thought it was just a lively looking burger joint......NOT SO.....well, sort of. Turns out it is a sarcastic and funny/strange place! Literally they warn you as you sit down that the waiters use sarcastic humour! On top of that they fit diners with a homemade paper hat with funny sayings......the young kids hat next to us read "I still wet the bed". The adult ones were a bit cruder! But funny!! I think they took it easy on us with 2 kids!
And of course, what trip would be complete without a stop for ice cream! I had a feeling this was going to be messy, and it was, but she loved it.

Some recent Maddy....
Sporting her new hairband/flower!
She loves to crawl under the chair to the dog's water bowl!
Enjoying a snack with Roxy looking on! She knows how to work the snap-trap! And Roxy knows how to clean up after her.

Tinkerbell!
I forgot to mention, Tinkerbell now frequents our house daily! Abby got this as a hand-me-down from her good friend, and even took a nap in it the first day we got it. She puts it on/off all on her own and loves it. She woke up like this from her nap and put green pants on at some point during the nap too! We are in the "No- I do it" dress yourself phase! She won't let us help her at all.....until of course she gets herself tied in a knot with a shirt and screams for help....then apparently we are useful.
Playdate!
I met my friend Lindsey and her 2 kids at the local mall to play yesterday. We haven't been there in a long time, and not since Maddy's been crawling. So Maddy had a lot of fun this time and pulled up on everything! Tatum and Abby are the same age, weight and height! They are goofballs together and had a great time! Cute video of them spinning around to follow!
Bottle Girls!
Abby got a little jealous the other morning that Maddy was on a pillow drinking her morning bottle......Cinderella had to come join us! Copying a 9 month old is apparently very fun!
Chicken Nuggets are YUMMY too!
Well she is slowly weaning herself off of pureed baby food and forcing me to find more and more finger foods to fill her growing tummy. Most days she uses her tongue to shovel the baby food back out whenver I try to spoon it in! Stubborn little girl! But even without teeth, she would rather chew/gum the finger foods now!

Shake your head!!!!
Nothing is better these days than imitating each other! Maddy loves to copy her big sister!!
Bath time!
The girls take a bath together almost every other night! Tonight I caught Maddy standing up on the side of the tub for the FIRST time!!! She is getting stronger each day! No doubt she will be scaling along the furniture in the coming weeks! I almost forgot how quickly these stages/changes creep up on you.
Maddy and the volleyball
Auntie Sarah got Abby this mini volleyball when she was this age, and now it is passed onto Maddy!
And of course she loves it too! I need to dig up comparable photos of them with the ball at this age!!

Maddy Crawling
(I had a bunch of videos I've been meaning to post, so here you go!)
Maddy is now a full-time crawler!
Maddy is now a full-time crawler!
I can CLAP!! Watch!!
Oh, and of all the places for a milestone, Maddy learned to clap at the bowling alley!!!
We weren't even prompting her (nor paying her any attention, she sat like an angel in the stoller watching us the entire hour we bowled). We were just clapping excitedly for Abby each time, looked over, and saw Maddy clapping too!
Bowling!!!
We took the girls bowling today! I've been thinking of having Abby's 3rd birthday with her friends at a bowling alley, but wasn't sure how much she'd enjoy it. I was reassured that it is a lot of fun, even for a 3 year old! They have bumpers that popped up just on her turn, and there's a cute green dinosaur ramp that pushes over for her to place and push the ball off of! She loved it! So yes, her 3rd bday in October will be BOWLING!!!! We didn't do a 2 year party for her, so I am super excited.....and she is CONSTANTLY reminding us that everything had better be "Cinderella" at her party.....cake especially! Oy!!!
Oh yes, did I (embarssingly) forget to mention that I only beat her by 4 points!!! How did that happen?? I guess I needed the bumpers too!
Carrying her BIG (8 pound) ball over to the ramp all by herself!
Daddy helping her get it on there just right.
Clapping for herself in excitement!
Excitedly awaiting her next turn.....after daddy!
Soccer Ball Fun
While at the park, Abby kicked around her friend Emily's soccer ball......really well!
So Mike is off to buy her a soccer ball today.

Concert in the Park
Saturday night we met our friends the Mitzner's at a park in Norfolk where they were holding a free concert! So we bagged dinner and went over to let the girls run around! Abby was a sweaty, tired mess by the time we left! Good fun!! Oh, and Maddy now prefers Bud Light!
"Hmmmm.....no one seems to care that I stole daddy's drink!
This is the kind of bottle I'm talking about mom"
