Pismo Beach Weekend

We escaped to Pismo Beach over the holiday weekend to meet up with Mike's brother Kyle and his family who were already there vacationing! We had a great time, and enjoyed some sunshine, pool time, good food, and of course family!!

Shrimp Boil one night for dinner!! Awesome!! It was as good as it looks!

 Our hotel was very nice, and I even got a run in on the beach Sunday morning!!

 It was a chilly weekend, our hotel pool was heated and nice, but the kids preferred the hot tub most times!

 Lastly we remember over Memorial Day, those that sacrificed ALL! 

And proud to be part of the many who risk that sacrifice everyday!!

Movie Night

Our neighborhood put on a "Frozen" movie night last Friday!!

Served FREE popcorn, drinks and snacks to the kids!!

And all the girls in the audience sang along to all the songs of course.

Mommy Spa Day!!

This past Sat/Sun my college roommate for 3 years and best friend came to visit!

We had a spa day on the books at a local hotel for a few months!!

We indulged in a full body scrub, full body massage, and a facial!! 

Then we sat around the pool eating and drinking, went wine tasting, and got to spend the night away at a hotel (without kids!!!!!) and slept til 8am!!!!! We rounded out or getaway with a morning beach walk and breakfast out!!

Really need to do this MORE!!! It was exactly what I needed, and refreshed doesn't begin to describe it enough. Nothing like a 90 min massage/scrub and 40 minute facial to make me feel new again!! (And a LOT of wine!!!!!)

Carmel Beach- BONFIRE!!

There are still many things on our local Monterey to-do list!

Surprising, since I think we've done a TON in one year!

But Friday night after a dinner at the house with our good friends, we all ventured down to Carmel Beach for our first ever bonfire night! With 4 kids, 2 bundles of wood, and 6 beach chairs in tow, we setup our "camp"! The kids played in the sand until the sun went down, and we enjoyed watching the surfers and the sunset!! Fires out at 11pm......we packed in the dark and headed home at 10pm!

Definitely must do this a few more times, the kids enjoyed it as much as we did!!

Monopoly Maddy

The kid doesn't take much seriously.....playing Monopoly JR the other night, she was actually winning with the most acquired properties, and then decided to put the property markers on her fingers!

TBall Team Pictures

 We have two more games left, but this has been a great first Tball season, with noticeable growth from ALL of the kids! Just at this past Saturdays game, both Abby & Maddy were involved, not playing in the dirt, and each made two ground play catches thrown to first base! Its all clicking!!

Its so nice to live in a quaint neighborhood with great coaches (parents) and support!

All good things......

We had a great visit with Auntie Sarah, but alas all good things must come to an end.

So on Sarah's last day we ran a few errands, made a quick trip to the kids museum for Maddy, and settled on chowder bread bowls for lunch at Cannery Row!!

Sarah gave Maddy a mini makeover while I picked up something at Ulta!!

We were crazy, but it was delish!!

Date Night @ Pebble Beach

Mike and I took FULL advantage of having Sarah here this last week, and squeezed in a date night!

MUCH NEEDED TOO!!!

We went to dinner at Roy's at Spanish Bay golf course in Pebble Beach

 Started with an awesome scallop appetizer with crab on top!

 Our dining entertainment was the bagpiper who walks the property daily at sunset!

We had great window seats so we could see him from our table.

Thank you Sarah! We had a wonderful night out!!

Mothers Day Luau 2014

Maddy's class hosted a Mothers Day Luau Friday morning and since Sarah was here, she joined in the fun!

 Mr. Derrick-- Maddy had these three great teachers all year for her last year of preschool!

They all love Maddy's personality and understand her love to talk, play, and be the social butterfly that she is EVERYDAY!!!

I love my little bug, and am so proud of how outgoing and smart she has grown to be!

Having two kids really shows you how contrasting they can be, and I appreciate her for all her unique attributes that make her Maddy.

Look who came to visit!!!!!!

Aunt Sarah flew in with a tan from Hawaii!!!

She came for a 5 day visit before trekking back down south!

The girls woke her up the first morning with BIG smiles!!

 Mike and I took her wine tasting of course!!

 And for mother's day weekend Amy and Adam and my dad came to town too!

So we hit up the girls Tball game, the local park and had some yummy home cooked eats!!

So great being ALL together!!

Oh the faces!!!

Brought the girls home their first electric toothbrushes......and they were thrilled!! Can't you tell?!?

But really, they have been begging for their own :)
