How much is that doggie in the window....

Abby is just tall enough now to peer out my bedroom window onto our front road. It is a fairly busy street, so there are lots of cars and dog walkers to see pass by! Its always been a favorite spot of Roxy's, but now she has to share yet another pastime!!!

....making her funny flat inverted lip mouth!!! So serious..
......and then a smile....even though it is a little corny looking

Yard fun...and new climber action!!

Just being silly rolling in the grass on a beautiful day!!
BEST FRIENDS!! I got very lucky last week and got a used "Kangaroo Climber" that someone put out on the curb on base, saving me $$$!!! I've been wanting Abby to have one, but didn't want to fork out money for a used piece of plastic. So that was my lucky day!! Abby's too I assume!!
She loves it and can climb through the back door, up onto the playform, and slide down ALL BY HERSELF!! And repeat it over and over!!

Caught playing together....

Last week Abby started venturing out into the yard by herself. She loves to go out, walk around, and play on her toys all by herself. Occaisionally she comes back in to check on me, but really I'm watching her out the window the whole time! But I caught her and Roxy in the yard playing; she was picking grass for Roxy, and playing with dog toys!

Birthday Celebrations

We made a day trip to San Pedro to celebrate Sheila and Great-Grandma Fran's birthdays today.....Abby had a blast following and playing with Sheila all afternoon. She kept the rest of us pretty entertained as well without a meltdown! And then she slept the whole way home!

Popsicle time!!

Abby had her first popsicle the other night...we were having dinner over at a friends house, with another couple too! So there were 7 kids and 6 adults....we were definitely outnumbered!! We all had a great time and Abby joined in the fun and loved sitting with the other kids, and of course got a popsicle just like they did. It took her a few licks to get past the icy exterior and realize how yummy it was!
All the kids!! Abby LOVED playing at their house.
Movie time....all the kids huddled on the couch to watch "Beauty and the Beast"....don't be fooled though, Abby did NOT sit through an hour and a half movie....she got off the couch shortly after this token photo and played with toys while the others snuggled and watched!

Fun in February....

We read to Abby every night before bed.....she loves her books!

Here she is being silly...she fell off her push-doggie onto the rug, and just layed there smiling, so I grabbed the camera. She can be such a ham!!

Her new favorite thing to do is get a piggy-back ride!! She climbs up on your back if you're sitting on the ground and expects a good ride.....
Oh!!! And we are walking 100% now.....crawling is a thing of the past!!! She walks like a zombie with both arms out! Very cute!!
These were taken yesterday at the local indoor playgym we like to go to. This was her first time going since she could walk, so it was a different experience being more mobile.

Silly Abby!!! Just hammin' around in her pj's this morning!

Arizona Road Trip

Abby and my mom and I took a weekend road trip to Arizona to visit our family there (my uncle and his kids and grandson!) We had a great time, and the weather was perfect! So our big outing was a trip to the zoo! Abby's first time seeing animals in person! We had a great visit and got to meet the newest member of the family, Andrew Sislo (2 months old)!
Sadly Abby ran a high fever Saturday which kept us indoors and quiet, but she's 100% better now, so I'm guessing it was just a fluky virus of sorts. You never know!!
But we had a great visit all the same!!

Chillin' in our sunglasses.......in front of the ostrich den

This was a great experience. These are "Lory birds", and this is an exhibit where you get to feed the birds hands on in this aviary. You walk in and the handlers give you a chunk of apple. You simply hold the apple in your hand and the bird flies to your arm and starts eating it. Very weird, but fun too! These birds only eat the nectar out of the apple, so they leave the skin and pulp behind (they cannot digest solids).

One bird decided to take refuge on my head of all places.....In this photo Abby had no idea there was a bird on my head. It took us a while to get her to look up and see it. Oh, and no, I wasn't worried about bird poop, we were warned that it takes about 15 minutes for the apple nectar to go from beak to butt, so they warn you at 13 minutes to shake off the bird and get out.
Here Abby finally sees the bird on my head......and its his tail so I'm not sure if she knew what was going on.
The giraffe's were my favorite animal of the day. Here is Uncle Kenney holding her towards the giraffe. We got to feed them giraffe pellets by hand, mostly I just dumped the food onto their 18" tongue!! YUCK!!!! These tongues are long, wide and like a whole other appendage in itself. Very freaky....Abby was a little disturbed but took it all in.
The giraffes walked around in a BIG circle out in their yard, then would approach the tower for food by sticking out their long tongue and waiting for you to offer up the goods.
Abby getting an eyeful of giraffe tongue!!
Here are the mommies and babies!! Andrew Sislo (2 mo's old) and mommy Erin!!
We were standing in front of the tiger enclosure.....there was a white tiger and a bengal tiger enclosed together, pacing back and forth anxiously as they watched the lion in the adjacent enclosure! Very active cats!!
I think the ducks were Abby's favorite part of the day. It was a good height for her to stand at, so we bought duck pellets and threw them food for a while. She got a kick out of it, and even started quacking at them once I got her to understand that they were the same ducks we quack about at home!

The petting zoo area.......Abby wasn't keen on the goats and other animals inhabiting the petting zoo, but it was the end of the day, so here's a somewhat happy face with the goats just behind her. One little goat actually had her by the back of her shirt at one point while I was walking her around, so we had to pull him off!!

Oh and the Penguin exhibit (it was a zoo and aquarium so they had fish and reptile exhibits too!) was another favorite because she could stand at the glass wall as the Penguins swam right up to her. It was so funny because they didn't just swim by, they swam to her and would stay there a few seconds before swimming away......and back again. She got a kick out of seeing them so up close.

Pushing the doggie!

More adventures of Abby and the doggie

She loves that doggie!!!

I just had to share her excitement on the doggie!

Abby's ride-on doggie

Abby recently inherited a fun hand-me-down doggie ride-on and LOVES it!!!! Its her new favorite mode of transportation in the backyard when she doesn't feel like walking...(who does really!!).
The first time she rode him she took off like a pro "peddling" him around and scooching him in the right direction. She even 4-wheels it onto the grass with no trouble at all!
Oh, and today when I took the photos, I put these cute glasses on her when she went out to play and amazingly she didn't mind having them on at all.
She was pretty in pink!!! Pink glasses, pink shirt and pink shoes!!! Such a GIRL!!!

Driving off into the sunset.....well, really over to her playhouse

She kept trying to get the doggie into the house, but I kept telling her he just wouldn't fit! Really, I knew she'd never get him over the threshold hump by herself, so it never happened...but she did try a few times!

Yes, the doggie is eye-less...his eyes must have worn off with age.....we need to draw him some new ones....she doesn't complain!
