final Disney.....

Ohhh! I forgot this one. This is her upset after Mr Toad's scary ride!! Had to get a shot!!
The only tears of the day thank goodness!!
Flying in daddys arms!!
The end of our fabulous day!!!!! With the Castle behind us.....
And a final self family portrait!!
Abby was sure ready to get home and go to bed!!!!

Disney part 3

Buying her first set of minnie mouse ears!!! She loves putting hats on her head!
Well we couldn't just get one set of ears now could we!! Mommy insisted on 2!! So she got a minnie mouse headband too!

Another family self-portrait.....waiting in line for Pirates

After riding Winnie the Pooh!! They had Winnie & Tiger out for photos, but we didn't dare attempt that after what happened with Santa last month! Plus we didn't want to add any fear to the day! She was on edge as it was!!

Playing dentist with daddy...."Say aaaahhh"...as we waited in line to get on the Nemo Submarine ride! Last ride of the night!

Disney part 2

Self-portrait on Dumbo in the air!!! Abby loved Dumbo!
Tea Cups!!
Waiting in line at "Mr Toad's Wild Ride"
I have to say, this was a bad decision on our part! We forgot how dark and spooky this ride is, and didn't realize until it was TOO late!! But she didn't cry at all during the ride. She just held on VERY tight to me until the end. And when we reached the light at the end, she looked around, and then screamed!! We couldn't help but laugh. Needless to say she was a bit hesitant on the dark rides the rest of the day, but she never cried again. She would just nestle into my chest and put her head down whenever she was unsure.....then look up to see if it was safe!!

The Carousel!!

DISNEYLAND 2009

Well, we bit the bullet and decided to take a toddler to Disneyland!!! Amazingly, it was the BEST day ever, and Abby had a great time. We got there at 11:30am and left at 8:30pm. We never thought she would let us spend 9 hours at the park, but she was so excited the whole day, taking everything in.
Also to our amazement she was able to ride a lot of the rides!
Here's the list of what we took her on:
Dumbo, Tea Cups, Mr Toad's Wild Ride (not such a good idea afterall!!!), Pirates of the Carribean, Carousel, Jungle Cruise, Nemo Submarine Boat Ride, Winne the Pooh.....I think thats all of them!
Plus Mike got to get in a few rides on his favorites too while Abby and I perused the vendors selling on the streets!
All in all, it was a great "FREE" day at Disneyland! I got in free for my birthday, Mike got in free as military (Disney's doing a new military free special) and Abby was free too!

Family photo at the entrance!
Awww what a beautiful day!!!

Just look at those locks!!!!

Waiting in line for Dumbo! Abby never fussed in all the line waits! She was great!!

On Dumbo!!!! The first ride of the day!!

Bender Ball Baby

Hmmm...who uses the "bender ball" more????
A friend of mine sent me this bender ball workout ball months ago, and I like to use it, but now Abby's found it to be much more fun to sit on! She loves to try to balance on it, on the floor and on the couch!

Fridge fun

Abby got farm animal and alphabet letters for the holidays this year, and loves listening to the animal sounds and playing with the letters!! The kitchen is now somewhat entertaining!!

First Steps!!!!!!!!!

Its official!! Abby took her FIRST STEPS this past Thursday! All of a sudden she just tried standing from a crawling position, and on her feet she went....over and over. She isn't fully walking yet, but she tries over and over, and takes a few steps here and there. She is still working on her balance and understanding how it all works! Luckily Mike is home now so he is enjoying this "first" for the first time (since he's missed most of the others!!).

Ahhhhhh!!!! Here comes the Abby monster!!!!

Aunt Amy came to visit us

Aunt Amy came to visit us this weekend...and we had a blast!!!
We visited Petco to see the birds, snakes and fish!! Abby was so curious to watch the fish swim around in front of her.

Sharing some rice with Aunt Amy
On Saturday we drove up to Santa Barbara and spent a few hours walking around the shops on State Street to browse!! Abby did great and snacked as we shopped! It was a beautiful day in the sun! And these are the shots we got of her in her stroller while we ate lunch.
BIG BLUE EYES!!!!!
Still loving her bananas......most days she eats at least a whole banana, sometimes 2!!!!
Silly monkey!!
Look at all my teeth on display!! They help me eat my bananas everyday!
Messy guacamole face!! Her new favorite dip....the yummy (and expensive) green stuff!!
At the end of our day in Santa Barbara, this very nice couple wanted to give Abby their romantic balloon creation that they bought. They insisted, so we accepted, and she had fun....til it started to pop piece by piece......and into the garbage it went!

Hats are cool

Abby saw me wearing a hat the other day and wanted to try it on for size! She couldn't quite navigate with it on, but she loved being just like mommy.

Alone with Daddy...

Hmmmm......This is what happens when you leave daddy in charge one night to go out and have fun with the girls!!! Mass yogurt chaos!!!
He must have forgotten how to use a bib and Abby didn't remind him! Good thing we do laundry quite often in this house! Abby loves to self-feed yogurt and oatmeal....and ice cream when she gets the chance!! The spoon is her best friend for dipping.

Happy as a messy clam!!

Read, read, read!!

Abby loves to read her books. And the other day she discovered one of daddy's books! Boy do his books have a lot of soft pages to rip (I mean flip!!). Mike donated this one to the Abby reading cause!"What mom?? Can't a kid read without photos??"
She loves flipping those pages
Getting deep into her first novel!
