Great-Grandparents Visit

We had a wonderful visit with my Grandparents this past weekend.
We started off with a visit to the Aquarium. They took the kids, and Mike and I got some alone time to browse Cannery Row and do our usual wine tasting. Gorgeous and warmest weekend yet.....I say warmest.....mid/high 70's!
After the aquarium we stopped on Cannery Row for traditional Chowder Bread Bowls! Mmmmm
We sat down near the water in the shade to enjoy them!
Then we toured them around Mike's school. The kids posed outside and inside.

The Historic Del Monte Hotel.....now the Navy Lodge
Sunday morning we headed to a lake just North of us for some fishing....
The kids had fun.....but there were no fish to be had. They did perfect their casting though!
Both girls can now cast all on their own.....so long as they don't get tangled in each others lines :)
We will have to find a lake with actual fish in it next time!

Back to School Night

Back to school night was two weeks ago.....Abby loves Kindergarten and is doing very well.
Hard to read.....she wrote about herself:
Favorite Color: PINK
Fav Food: SUSHI
Fav Animal: CAT

Miss Maddy Magoo

This kid keeps us laughing!

Labor Day Bike Ride

We took our new bike trailer out for its maiden voyage yesterday!
We parked down by Mike's school, and rode 9 miles round trip to Pacific Grove passing Cannery Row and the Aquarium and The Wharf! The kids fell asleep when we got to this point to turn around, and never complained. It was a fun ride that we plan to do more of!!

Smith Family Visit

Mike's brother Kyle and his wife Angela and kids came to visit for Labor Day weekend!
We had a great time, and the kids had way too much fun together!!
We took them wine tasting, did the aquarium, went swimming, and to a park!
Fun weekend that went by too fast.

Kids ZUMBA

Our community center has FREE classes! One of which is a weekly Kids Zumba class!
I didn't know about it, so when a friend invited us last week, we went!
The kids LOVED it, and were sweaty and tired after 40 minutes of moving!!

Fujimoto Monterey Visit

This weekend we were visited by the Fujimoto family (My Aunt Brenda, Uncle Craig and Cousin Sheila). We had a fun time with them, and they got a lot of time to explore the area.
Took them for a walk thru of the Del Monte Hotel, which is located at the Post Grad School that Mike attends. It is now used as the Navy Hotel! Lots of history.
Sheila spent a lot of time with the girls, and they enjoyed her company!
She shared a room with them all weekend too!
We ventured out for our first family paddle boat trip!
Its just down the street from our house, and the kids LOVED it! No surprise!!
Abby loved steering, and Maddy enjoyed helping pedal!
Sheila also volunteered to babysit while the adults escaped to our favorite wine club on Cannery Row! It was a gorgeous Sat/Sun with clear skies all day!

This is the view (above) from the wine tasting room. The side view looks down Cannery Row toward the Aquarium.
Then it was Monday again....and the girls were off to school bright and early!
Maddy got the royal treatment and got Uncle Craig and Sheila as escorts to her class.
SIDE NOTE: Roxy was spoiled all weekend too by this dog loving family! She got extra walks, lots of love, and treats!! Pretty sure she wanted to be packed out in their car when they left!!

Carmel Night Out

Mike and I were spoiled this weekend with another date night out!
My Aunt and Uncle Fujimoto were in town and volunteered to watch the girls for us so we could escape for a night out.
We had reservations at a popular Mediterranean/Greek restaurant in Carmel, then headed to Clint Eastwood's old restaurant "Hogs Breath Cafe" for a few drinks! They had a quaint fire pit outdoors that we sat around! We rounded the night off with a movie too! Haven't been to the theater for an adult movie in a LONG time!
