Yep.....they are related

I happened to glance over and capture this angle the other night.......they are SO related!
Smith-ness!!

Thanksgiving Feast for Maddy

Maddy's preschool hosted a Thanksgiving feast at her school!
Mike and I were able to attend and dine on the toddler turkey meal!

Learning at its best

You learn the most from your big sister---especially when she is teaching you subtraction!

New Eats!

Found a great new Pho restaurant nearby! And even Maddy was a fan!!!
With 40+ flavors of Boba tea!!!

Old Friends- The BEST!

A few weeks ago we were able to attend my best friend's (and college roommates) daughters' birthday party in the Bay Area!
It was a fun black light room with foam jump pits, and a bouncy house!
LOVE living so close to her.......for now :(

We LOVE this place!

Mike and I are SO lucky to not only live in such a wonderful place, but to get to enjoy it together with his time not in school! LOVE our runs together! But they are numbered :(

Freaky!!

No children were harmed in the making of this shower art!!
It only looks like a crime scene from the outside!
SHOWER PAINT FUN!!

Its beginning to look a lot like......MOVING!!!!

The BIG day is approaching FAST!!!
We have 100% sorted the garage---what will be stored stateside until we return in 2-1/2 years, what we are having the Navy ship to Japan for us, and what we will take with us to Norfolk for our cross country journey!
Came across some fun old memories! Abby & Roxy 2008

Grandma Smith visits

Grandma Smith came to visit a few weeks ago!
I only got this one photo, and its a keeper!
The girls got lots of Grandma cuddles!

We hit up a new restaurant too up in Moss Landing!
A MUST SEE in the area if you come thru!

UC Santa Cruz--Student Visit

Our nephew Cade came for a weekend visit from Santa Cruz!
He is two months into his Freshman year at college there.
The kids have enjoyed his fun company, and Mike got a video gaming partner!!

Cool to Monterey Visit

My dad and Kathy came for a visit this past weekend.
Friday we took a long walk to Lovers Point in Pacific Grove.
Then had lunch at our wine bar!
Finished off the day with a shrimp boil at home for dinner.
Saturday morning both girls had their final soccer games of the season.

From 6 to 7

Got her school photos back this week!
Comparing the changes a year can make is always fun.

Look who's 5!!

This BIG girl turned 5 last week!
She requested a trip to the kids museum and pizza for dinner!
Ice cream cake to celebrate!!

Hawyeke Ball 2014

In annual tradition, we attended our Hawkeye Ball this weekend down in Ventura.
We reunited with MANY friends from East/West and enjoyed an evening of festivities!!
The kids came with us this time, and I was lucky enough to have a good friend there offer to keep them overnight as she wasn't attending this year! So it was fun for the kids too!
Rainbow on our drive south on the 101
Goofy girls relaxing in the car
The view of the beach from our resort room patio!

Before leaving town today we stopped by our old house on Port Hueneme!
Where Abby was born and Maddy was created! So many memories to tell the kids!
In the next 10-20 years we will have a LOT of old addresses to reminisce about to them!!

My friend Patti shared this photo comparing when she had the kids May of 2013 in VA before we moved, and now! 18 months later and they seem SOOO grown up!
Thank you Patti for the memories and the babysitting!!!!

Smarty Pants- Writes

She wrote this one in class last week. She is in the advanced reading group of her peers, and she said their only instructions were to write their own unique story (no spelling help of course), and draw a picture to match. LOVE the honesty in 1st grade spelling! If only English was written as it sounds, and she'd be a master speller!!

Smarty Pants

Abby loves to recreate math/writing works from school at home!
She came up with this 100% on her own, from no notes! Just her smart 1st grade brain.
How they rationalize math these days.....uggghh

Monterey Ghost Tour

My date night turned into a night with friends!
Mike was supposed to join me on this Ghost Tour.....but took one for the team and stayed home with Maddy after her sickness week before last!
A group of 16 of us joined a double decker trolley bus for a night of ghost stories and local story telling. It was fun to hear all the history Monterey holds.
We didn't see any ghosts!! We stopped at a handful of historical sites and businesses, some empty/haunted, and some still used today, and sworn to be haunted! We also walked through the local cemetery.....a first for me....at night......spooky!
