New Favorite Toy

Our new toy is our newest appliance!!!
And best appliance investment so far.
Meet Mr. VITAMIX
They are one of the best blender/juicers on the market, and we have had fun creating interesting drinks/meals!
 Zucchini Soup
 Carrot-Tomato Soup
 Berry Pina Colada
"Dirty Juice" (my new favorite--has spinach, kale, blueberries, cabbage, carrots, apples, beets, grapes, banana, pineapple and broccoli with 1-1/2C water!!)
Turns into this...................

Brave Patient

Almost two weeks ago, Abby had her surgery to remove the tough discolored skin from under her right armpit. The surgery went great, and her recovery couldn't have been better. She was never in pain and didn't require pain meds after the first day!

The surgery was performed at Stanford's Childrens Hospital in Palo Alto. 90 minutes from us, but worth every ounce of driving for the awesome facility and care she received!

We go back this Friday for her post-op to clear her for activity. THANK GOODNESS because the doctors orders were strict as to no outdoor playing or fun for TWO WEEKS!!! Keeping a 6 year old mellow and indoors that long, in Monterey no less where the weather is so nice.......is VERY hard!!
Getting prepped for anesthesia.......now that she's 6, she was brave and mature enough to go straight to the sleepy mask with the staff. She never cried, whimpered or expressed concern once! And when I said goodbye and offered her a second hug/kiss, she refused!! So proud of our BRAVE BIG GIRL!
She had her own TV with movies
Testing out the mask flavor- "bubble gum"
While Abby was in surgery, the three of us went to the cafeteria for breakfast. We had to check in for the 7:30am procedure at 6am, so that meant we left the house at 4am!!! So we were HUNGRY!!
Sleepy girl coming out of anesthesia
We finally had to prop her bed up to get her to stay awake. Otherwise I'm pretty sure the warm blankets, cozy bed and promise of unlimited popsicles would have kept her there all day.

Home bound!! She crashed in the car. But was super hungry and ready to eat when she woke up!

Losing Teeth

About 2 weeks ago, Abby lost her first set of teeth!!
They had been super loose for weeks, and finally the night before her surgery Mike and her worked to wiggle them OUT!!!! The new teeth are now growing in!
The toothfairy promptly brought her $1/tooth. Seemed like a good rate for 2013

TEETH!!!

On our way to the dentist recently......Moving so much is hard having to restart at new doctor and dentist offices......these kids are PROS!!!! And they love going to the dentist!
(THANK GOODNESS!!)
 Abby during her cleaning
 Maddy during her cleaning

The office we chose was fantastic. They had flat screen TV's above each exam chair playing a movie.
Both girls got clean bills of dental health!!

Playing Cards

After the EPIC Birthday Party weekend, the girls had some quiet time to play cards with their Great-Grandpa Bob (aka- Pappa).

ART Birthday Party

The girls had their first CO-Birthday Party this past weekend.
We celebrated with almost ALL of our family (So grateful to everyone that traveled to be with us and share in this celebration)!! Thank you to all that attended, and helped to eat all the food!!!!

I hired a professional face paint artist that did a PHENOMENAL job!!
And the kids did a canvas art paint project to take home!!
The kids all took turns getting their faces painted, and some other big kids (aka: adults) jumped in too!

It was a wonderful weekend celebrating the two things I care about most!!!
Abigail & Madelyn
 NEW BIKES!!!!
 Pinatas!!!
2 Family dinners, an afternoon party and a family breakfast later......and we are back to normal.
With two very happy kids who had their first BIG family birthday celebration with many memories!!!
