Bang Bang Fence

 Mike was busy banging the fence boards for loose nails yesterday and the girls thought it was a good thing to do too! So Abby grabbed her trusty stick and started to help! Maddy on the other hand was not satisfied with the stick Abby offered her and demanded the hammer. And she caught on quick!

Couch girl!

 

This little girl LOVES to go and hide behind our couch. Lately when she knows we are looking for her she darts back there and knows she's safe from our reach.....little stinker. 

She loves to keep us laughing!

Random cuteness

Maddy got cute in front of the mirror and under the exam table. Lucky for her she is JUST short enough to fit and walk under the table without hitting her head. She thought she was funny.....me too!

Happy April!!! We are VERY ready for spring!!

Its official!! Vacation planning done!

We just booked our first official family vacation!!!! I'm over the moon excited! Can you tell??

I did a lot of research and finally found a house that worked for us and our friends.

This is the house we rented in the Outerbanks, NC with 2 other couples!!!
It is AMAZING and on the ocean with a private pool & hot tub, and only 500ft walk to the beach!

We are going September 11-September 18th, so don't book any trips out our way then, because we won't be home!! :) This is a wonderful location because its only 2 hours away, but oceanfront and serene!

It will be a wonderful way to end a great summer.

Silly Girls in Bed

Maddy thinks Abby's big girl bed is the best thing ever. So she often goes in there and snuggles up for fun.
And of course Abby thinks its funny that Maddy likes her bed, so I caught them playing the other day. Their laughter lights me up!

Chase!

Abby LOVES attention. I caught Mike chasing her around the backyard the other day while he was supposed to be mowing. Guess she interrupted him and it turned into a game. She giggles so much when she is running, I'm surprised she didn't fall over!

Bath Girls

Bath time last night! Finally got them to look in the same direction (at me!!!) at the same time- AMAZING!

Maddy is catching up in size quickly. I think they are 5 pounds apart right now. And only getting cuter!

A-B-B-Y

Abby is all about trying to spell her name lately. Usually it turns into 4-6 scribbled "c"s that she says spells Abby. Well, yesterday I wrote her name on her doodle pad and asked her to copy it below. This is what she did:

 I think she did GREAT for her first time writing her name out. 

And this next one is her doing it all on her own. We have just started to work with letter identification with her, so I was impressed.

I've already heard that in class next year she will be writing out her name repeatedly in class, so hopefully we can prepare her now! And today when I picked her up from school her teachers boasted about how she insisted on writing her name for them!! They too were impressed, specifically that she had her b's correct! Awwww......she loves school. I can't wait til she starts "really" learning new things next year.

WHAT was I thinking???!!!!

So......who knew having a "FUN" Sand/Water table could be so messy????

Well, I learned the hard way. What was I thinking, that two kids under 3 could keep sand and water fun separate.....NOT!!!! Mud pies (lakes) were definitely more fun!

So I think our new fun table is going to turn into a strictly WATER ONLY table.

Aside from the obvious mess of water in the sand side, we ended up with speckled white muddy sand thrown by Abby all over the patio, bbq, pool fence, etc. Good thing it will all wash away with the next rain, but the sand has gotta go! We still have a real sandbox, so that will have to do!

 Despite the mess they made, they truly did have a lot of fun, and it was good independent play!

 "Hmm......maybe I should eat this???".......and she has, repeatedly. Silly Maddy! She eats everything!!

 The end all disaster. You'd think 10 kids were over playing....Nope, just my 2 cuties.

White speckled muddy sand everywhere. Oh, and I forgot to mention the PILE of sand Abby put on Maddy's head too! She got a little creative.

Tomorrow is the BIG day!!!

Disney's "Tangled" is released on DVD!!!!

Okay, so its not a big monumental day for our family, but Abby is going to be SOOOO excited!

All she has talked about for the last few months since I took her to see "Tangled' in the theaters........is "Tangled"!!! We can't even walk down the toy aisle in a store without her seeing a Tangled doll or treehouse and begging me to get it for her. I've resisted, but we are buying the DVD tomorrow. 

And I ordered her a special Tangled nightgown last week that arrived, which I'm sure she will wear nightly until I make her wash it.

She is a princess LOVER so this will be one more to add to the list!

Did I mention she knows most of the words to "Aladdin" and "Little Mermaid" theme songs!!

So Tangled is her thing these days! I'll post a picture tomorrow of her in her new pj's!

March....

I missed a few cute March pics, so I thought I'd throw them up....in no order.

 Maddy LOVES this Dora couch....I know I've said it before, but she treats it like her own "little" couch and lounges on it regularly! Its her go-to spot to chill to watch her favorite show. Or in this case, to read the Toys R Us ad.

 Abby has always loved the couch too (which was a craigslist find 2+ years ago....) I love it best when they share a spot on it! But this is what lounging looks like. Maddy will lounge anywhere!

 The little mommy is good! She copies everything, and I'm sure has watched Abby doing this repeatedly over time. She loves to come out stirring something up in her cup!

 

Pasta monster!!! When Maddy eats, she eats!

Popsicles are yummy! This was Maddy's 1st!

She's a great conversationalist too....."Hi" is the extent of her phone calls! She loves to run to you and shove the phone up to your ear like the call is for you.

Friends and lunch outside on a nice sunny day.

So I came across this photo, above, and realized I didn't take it, nor did I remember it occurring. So it must have been a night when Mike was on daddy duty and I was out! Oh the silly things they do together when mommy is away. Somehow she ends up with cups on her feet?? Oh boy! I can only imagine.

Friends at the Zoo

Made a visit to the zoo today with the girls friends Addison (4) & Casey (3)! The 4 of them have so much fun together. We see each other for playdates at least once or twice a week!
