Mike got official word today that he was accepted into the Naval Post Graduate School in Monterrey, CA!
CALIFORNIA HERE WE COME.......in 8 months!
He applied a few months ago, and our wish came true!
We will be leaving Virginia Beach by late May, arriving to CA to house hunt and spend some much needed family visits & vacation time in June! Then he starts school shortly after 4th of July!!
This is an 18-month assignment where he will be completing his MBA plus some Naval courses as well.
So yes, we will enjoy 18 months of TRUE shore duty!! He will physically be home or at school the entire time. Paid to be a student this time around, sounds good to me!
So shortly after his return from deployment we will be packing up and on the move!
So you have til early-March to squeeze in any last minute East coast "Smith" visits. We don't "plan" to return here for a good number of years if our Navy path goes the way we hope
(then again, I never count anything out, its the Navy afterall)!
A side note......Mike sent a great photo today of his recent visit to Bahrain.....where he flew off the ship with the Admiral in a helicopter! Guess its nice to know the helicopter is well armed!!
