So I've clearly been behind on posting my usual slew of photos from our activities!
Not to worry, we have been BUSY! I just don't have enough hands or brain power lately to remember to grab the camera!
We've hosted a few pool parties these past weekends, and last weekend we met up with Mike's brother and sister-in-law and niece at the beach here!
Crappy photo of Maddy, but it was the only one I took! Boo. Too busy chasing two kids around the beach!
Abby had her best beach day! She worked up the courage to go body surfing (with her floaty on) and even tried out the boogie board! She loved the body surfing more and was out in the big waves with the big kids!
The girls start school next week! (insert me screaming "YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Abby will be in Pre-K 5 days a week (9:30am-1pm)
Maddy will be in the older 2's class Tues/Thurs, same time as Abby.
Today we had their meet and greet so they could meet their new teachers for the year and see the classrooms! They both loved it. And if its any indication of Maddy loving it, I had to drag her kicking and screaming in a football hold just to leave! She wanted to stay of course! Lets hope leaving is the big concern for the year!!
Abby's highlight was seeing her "Cat in the Hat" decorated classroom, her seat at the table with her name, and the class pet! YEP! Their class pet is a pair of hermit crabs! And guess who gets to take turns taking it home on weekends! You guessed it......the kids!!!! Ick....... Abby is thrilled and already planning out where they will sleep and what they eat! She does realize we already have a pet, right????
Posing.....amazing Maddy stood still for a whole photo.....rarely happens with this busy body!
Ready for her new teachers!!! Where does she learn these poses??
This year her class will attend on and off site field trips! So she got a class shirt to wear on those special days to keep the kids unified!
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, we got the girls an early birthday joint gift this year.
Yep, Abby got her Barbie drivers license!!! I wanted them to have ample warm outdoor time to ride it, and with Oct/Nov birthdays, that can be iffy around here. Believe me they are putting good miles on that Barbie Jeep! Living on a court with kids is finally working out! We usually rarely go out front, but this is a nice reason to! Plus the other kids on our court have bikes and cars like this, so in the evenings after the sun is down its fun to watch them all drive/ride around together. Maddy is a patient passenger and LOVES to just go along for the ride. She can reach the pedal just fine, but her steering skills could use some improvement. Thats where BIG sister comes in. Abby steers great and so far hasn't hit any parked vehicles......or people.......
And me......I've been up to some crafting. My girlfriend came over last night. The kids played, and we crafted away! We made these burlap/moss monogrammed wreaths! Under $20 and fun to do!
